Logistics Expertise
The APICS Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution (CLTD) program addresses the market need for additional training, knowledge and expertise in the expanding field of logistics and transportation. Developed in tandem with subject matter experts, this certification sets the global standard for logistics best practices. The APICS CLTD designation provides individuals and teams with the knowledge to reduce costs, increase customer satisfaction and achieve recognition as a logistics expert.

Description of cltd course format
CLTD 14-Session: This course covers each of the CTLD Learning System modules and ends with a final exam. This course includes a review and exam practice for all modules. All materials are provided, as noted above.
CLTD Saturdays: This intensive course covers each of the CLTD Learning System modules and includes 2 followup online Q&A review sessions. Students must meet pre-coursework requirements. All materials are provided, as noted above.
CLTD 5-Day Workshop: This intensive course covers each of the CLTD Learning System modules and includes 2 followup online Q&A review sessions. Students must meet pre-coursework requirements. All materials are provided, as noted above.
CLTD Distance Learning: This course is designed for the student who has confidence in their self-study capability but wants some guidance to help pass the exam. Its appeal is a reduced cost and time commitment as compared to the 14-session course. The 3 sessions are scheduled 2-3 weeks apart to allow for self-study and ends with a final exam. Distance Learning package for CLTD includes above materials PLUS:
Email tutor support for up to 10 hours over 10 weeks from date of delivery of distance learning materials
Substitute 5 hours of email support for an optional half day tutorial for up to 5 hours for groups of 3 or more.
In addition, private tutor-only sessions (online or in-person) or additional hours of support are available for a nominal fee.
Becoming a CLTD Candidate
To be eligible for the CLTD exam, a candidate must meet one of the following criteria listed below. Unlike the CPIM exams, you cannot directly register to take the exam. You must first apply to take the exam and receive your “authorization to test” email from ASCM before you register for the exam. It is important to build this process into the leadtime for exam registration. The criteria needed are one of the following:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, plus two years of related business experience, or
• CSCP, CPIM, CFPIM, CIRM, or C.P.M. designation plus two years of related business experience, or
• Five years of related business experience.
How to register for the CLTD
Register: You must register and pay by early registration deadline noted above for discounted early registration fees.
Pay: You must pay for course fees and materials.
Confirm: A confirmation email will be sent with your PayPal payment. Keep this receipt as proof of payment. A confirmation with detailed instructions will be mailed to you 1-3 business days before the start of the course. (If a confirmation is not received, please email Education@LAPICS.org)
Cancellations
Cancellation requests are submitted online and are subject to the following fees:
Membership and Exam Credit fees are not refundable.
In addition to the any charges for any used materials billable at the ASCM Member rate:
Before the early registration deadline: $100.00 processing fee
Before the First Day of class: $200.00 processing fee
First Day of Class through Second Day of Class: $400.00 processing fee
No refunds are issued after second day of class
CLTD EXAM TESTING
Whether or not you choose to self-study for the exam or take a course, you will need to purchase the CLTD e-Learning System to prepare for the exam. The CTLD e-Learning System for the Upgrade Package consists of both printed and e-learning material. The printed material includes four books covering eight modules. The online material consists of:
