FACILITY TOUR: UNION PACIFIC INTER-MODAL CONTAINER TRANSFER FACILITY (ICTF) IN LONG BEACH on Thursday, April 17th at 9:30 AM.
Ever wonder where those mile- long freight trains hauling double –stacked containers come from and go to and as operations professionals how they fit into our logistics and supply chain strategy.
Now you can find out all about them on our unique and exciting tour of the Union Pacific railroad’s inter-modal container transfer facility or “ramp” in railroad jargon.
This tour will provide an overview of the Union Pacific railroad operations and more specifically of their inter-modal operations. Attendees will be able to view the actual operations of the ramp. While a lot of us use Trucking services, full truck load, LTL, small parcel services and occasional air freight, this provides an insight into an additional mode of transportation that may prove very cost effective, so please bring all your questions.
Due to space limitations, this tour will be open to the first 25 registrants, so please hurry!
