Thank you for your interest in joining the award-winning APICS Los Angeles Chapter Board of Directors!
Below is a checklist of the activities necessary to become a Los Angeles Chapter Board member. If you’ve already completed any of the actions below, such as filled out a Volunteer form or have an active membership, just skip those steps. Use this list as your checklist to make sure that you have all the necessary information to join our award-winning board.
To be a Los Angeles Chapter Board Member, a Volunteer must:  

1)     Make sure that you are receiving Chapter eblast communications by joining our list serve.  Access the APICS Los Angeles Chapter website and select the bright orange “Join Our Mailing List” button and complete the prompts.  If you are already receiving our communications, please take the time to update your profile.      

2)     Be an active member of APICS with a Los Angeles Chapter or Los Angeles Student Chapter affiliation.  If you are not already affiliated with APICS Los Angeles Chapter, please contact APICS at 800-444-2742 to obtain or transfer your membership before continuing.  Please note: Student Chapter members are eligible to hold Director positions on the APICS Los Angeles Chapter Board of Directors but are ineligible to hold the positions of Executive Board (President, VP, etc.) and Instructor.   

3)     Submit a completed Volunteer Form.  Our Chapter has identified several areas where assistance is needed and has listed those on our website at on the Volunteer Form.  Feel free to explain any special interests or skills. 

4)     Attend a Board of Directors meeting (see Calendar) to review Chapter Management Activities.  Board meetings are normally held the first Monday of every month.  Once you have submitted a complete Volunteer form and become a member, you will receive an invitation to a Los Angeles Chapter Board meeting (will be posted TBD).

5)     At the Board Meeting, accept a Board Assignment responsibility based on your current interests and Chapter needs.  If you are looking to only instruct Education Courses for the Chapter, you will automatically be assigned as a Director of Education.

6)     Complete a Board member bio.    Feel free to use the following as an example of an appropriate format:  http://www.lapics.org/lapics-board-of-directors/lewis.   You can copy/paste the information from a Word document, and it is acceptable to also send in the Word document as a follow-up confirmation.  

7) After submission of your bio, please send a headshot in a .jpg fomat, no larger than 300px tall, to Web@LAPICS.org so that your picture can also be added to your bio.  The headshot should be forward-facing, have an nondescript background (outdoor or plant background okay), and should not include any company logos.  

8)     Remain an active member of the Board of Directors by attending events and engaging in Board operations.
