Global Sourcing Workshop - Part 2
Presented by:  Joyce Lewis, CPIM, CSCP, C.P.M., APICS Master Instructor

Now, more than ever, the importance of doing business successfully on a global scale is a strategic issue. The ever-changing climate of international commerce and trade represents a constant challenge for organizations to choose the best ways to organize (both logistically and financially), partner, and execute effectively.

The ultimate goal in global sourcing becomes controlling costs while providing essential goods and services throughout a wide-reaching supply chain network. Organizations need skilled operations management and supply chain management professionals to keep their businesses favorably positioned throughout their markets.

Overview of topics for the Workshop:
  • Understand the strategic importance of globalization
  • Preparing for international procurement
  • Evaluate potential markets internationally
  • Source global suppliers strategically
  • Choose logistics partners
  • Address cultural differences
This is the second part of a two-part Global Sourcing Workshop - Executive Overview interactive series. The two-part workshop is an Executive Overview of the formal APICS Global Workshop Series series.

Please note: Attendance at both workshops (Part 1 & Part 2) provides 5 continuing education hours for Certification Maintenance programs. Participants registering and paying for both sessions on one registration form will receive a free Global Sourcing Executive Overview Participant Workbook, valued at $70.00 on ShopAPICS. Participants fully attending both sessions will receive a Global Sourcing Executive Overview - Certificate of Attendance after completing attendance and participation requirements.
