Like certain weather phenomena, surges are somewhat difficult to forecast in terms of magnitude and duration. With finite capacity and long lead times on both material and equipment, a surge is a challenging time for a supply chain group to navigate as they work to meet the rapidly rising demand while preparing for the decline to normalcy that typically follows.

SPEAKER INFO: 
Luc Hardyn is a global supply chain and procurement expert who helps companies achieve their revenue and EBITDA goals through strategic sourcing.  Luc has a broad experience in finance, operations and supply chain but has focused the last 20 years of his career on procurement matters. He’s held management positions at Canadian paper maker Cascades, Swedish multinational SCA, Simplicity and Hartz Mountain Corporation.  Mr. Hardyn is currently the Director of Procurement for renowned firearm maker Smith and Wesson in Springfield, MA.

Luc has lived and worked in France, Canada, China and the USA while conducting business in more than twenty countries. He speaks several languages and has created tens of millions of dollars savings and sales growth at large and small companies.
