Founded in 1957 as the American Production and Inventory Control Society, APICS has since expanded its focus to include a full range of programs and materials on individual and organizational education, standards of excellence, and integrated resource management. To reflect this new direction, we are now known as APICS. APICS Los Angeles Chapter, founded on December 11, 1957, serves the Los Angeles County area with quality education and consulting services in supply chain management and business operations. APICS Los Angeles serves approximately 400 members and is active in local educational institutions supporting supply chain programs.
APICS Certification
APICS certifications help improve company performance, your performance, and are an important differentiator on your resume. There are three internationally recognized certification programs offered by APICS. All are comprehensive, affordable programs for the busy professional. The first is Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), the original certification program offered. The second certification program is Certified in Integrated Resource management (CIRM). This program is focused more on the interrelationships between the different areas of the entire company, and is no longer supported by APICS. The newest certification is Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP). The CSCP program is a new industry educational and certification program created to meet the rapidly changing needs of the supply chain management field.
APICS CPIM exams are administered through Pearson VUE – as experts in providing knowledge measurement services, APICS has chosen them to administer the APICS CPIM exams in the most effective, ethical way possible. To learn about the process of registering for your next APICS CPIM exam, visit the Pearson VUE Web site or call Pearson VUE Customer Care number: 866-583-8949.
